The New Bethel Church of God in Christ in Tulsa helps feed families from all different walks of life and has been for months now.
Pastor Frank Brazwell said they started out Wednesday with 200 boxes of food and milk and gave everything away.
Pastor Brazwell said the stock pile of food goes quickly.
“Well, right now, I didn’t know what we were going to eat. I don’t know what’s in there, but we’ll be eating whatever it is," said Michael Bates.
Pastor Brazwell and his family carried box after box to cars of families in need and going through a rough patch.
“It’s affected everybody. I don’t care what you’re doing--everybody. Every single person. One way or another," said Bates.
Pastor Brazwell said in May his church started working with local food banks and giving away food.
He said the families they are helping come from all levels of income.
“You have people with jobs, but they don’t make as much money as they used to, and some people work two jobs," said Pastor Brazwell.
Pastor Brazwell said he's just doing his part, helping get food to people like Michael.
“It’s all going to go to use. If I don’t need it, somebody is going to need it," said Bates.
Pastor Brazwell will be back out with more food on Friday. Families can start picking up around 10:30.
