Here’s a look at six things to know before you set your alarm for Tuesday.
1.PROTECTING VICTIMS: It’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month and on Tuesday, there’s a study on human trafficking and domestic violence. State Representative Derrel Fincher from Bartlesville will host the study at the state capitol.
2.UNIFYING TULSA: The City of Tulsa will hold the second round of Resilient Tulsa Equity Dialogues Tuesday. It focuses on unity Tulsans from different backgrounds.
3.DELIVERING NEW TECH: The Tulsa Area United Way is delivering donations collected from the days of caring. About $5,000 in headphones, lap desks and other tech accessories were collected for students learning virtually. That will be at 10 a.m. at the Tandy YMCA.
4.TRANSFER STUDENTS: Tuesday there is a signing ceremony to mark National Transfer Student Week. Oklahoma has one of the top three highest rates of transfer students but is below the average when it comes to those students earning bachelor’s degrees. The collaboration includes seven colleges and universities in the Tulsa metro.
5.SPACE TAG: NASA is playing tag Tuesday with an asteroid near Earth. The mission is scheduled for 4 p.m. central time. It’s NASA’s first attempted at collecting a sample from an asteroid that will be returned to Earth.
6.CHAMPIONSHIP TIME: The World Series starts Tuesday as the Rays take on the Dodgers at 7:09 p.m.
