Tulsa police said two people were shot about 15 minutes apart from each other near 61st Street and South Peoria Avenue.

The first shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday night in the parking lot of a pawn shop, according to Tulsa Police. The victim was taken to the hospital with what police describe as a non-life threatening injury.

Police said the shooter involved in the first incident got away, so they set up a perimeter in the area to locate them. Police said an officer heard a gunshot a couple blocks away and was flagged down by a witness to the second shooting.

Tulsa Police said the victim was found in the street. They said she was transported to a hospital and is not expected to survive.

According to police they are looking for the person responsible for the second shooting. They also said they are trying to find out if the two shootings are connected.

“We’re still trying to piece that together,” said Lt. Chase Calhoun, Tulsa Police Department. “[Homicide detectives] will begin their part of the investigation.”

Anyone with additional information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (918)-596-COPS. You can remain anonymous.
