A woman is in police custody on Thursday morning after police said she tried to burn her own house down and threw a knife at an officer.

According to police, the woman was arguing with neighbors and had been throwing rocks at nearby businesses before officers were called to the scene.

Officers said that the suspect went into her house shortly after they arrived, then came back out before pouring lighter fluid across her porch and threatening to burn her house down.

The woman then went back inside and got a kitchen knife.

Tulsa Police Captain Malcolm Wightman said that they then fired pepper balls at the suspect and that is when she threw the knife at an officer before once again going back in her house.

Captain Wightman said the woman began trying to set a fire inside, so they went in and took her into custody.

According to officers, the woman could be charged with attempted arson and assault on an officer.
