TU finally returns to Chapman Stadium Friday night for the first time in 341 days, and the Golden Hurricane comes in on a two-game win streak.

The Golden Hurricane have been true road warriors this season, their only loss coming in the opener at Oklahoma State, and a pair of wins in the Sunshine State.

Now Tulsa turns its attention to finally preparing for a home game.

“This is about as normal as we’ve been up to this point, so extremely excited about getting the opportunity to play in our home stadium,” Head Coach Phillip Montgomery said.

To find the last time a home opener played in Tulsa in the month of October, we have to go back 102 years when the country was dealing with the Spanish flu.

“That’s not one of those records that I really wanted to break,” Montgomery said. “Breaking that record wasn’t really on our list of things.”

Defensively, linebacker Zaven Collins has come up big for the Hurricane. In just three games, Collins has 22 tackles, including three sacks.

“For me, the game has slowed down tremendously,” Collins said. “Playing more instinctual, always trying to put myself in a position to do those things.”

The Golden Hurricane will host East Carolina University at 8 p.m. Friday night.
