Tuesday, voters expected long lines everywhere and planned accordingly.
“I was thinking that it would be at least an hour wait so we may adjustments to make sure we had plenty of time,” said Josh Jester.
Luckily, Josh Jester and Cassandra Hope had no one in line at their precinct near 36th and Yale. "Like three minutes… yeah less than five minutes,” said Jester.
Things looked different at Church of the Madalene near 21st and Harvard, just miles away.
"I didn't really expect to see a line this long, but at the same time it's not surprising because I've seen all of the signs and everything and it's not surprising to see a huge line,” said Chase Moody.
Even though no in person voting happened at the Election Board on Tuesday, workers were processing 60,000 absentee ballots. Tulsa County Election Secretary Gwen Freeman said 375,000 people registered to vote in Tulsa County. She said that means Tulsa could see around 300,000 people voting in person Tuesday.
"Most presidential years you're looking at about a 70 to 80 percent turn out voter turn out for this for this presidential year we're thinking that we're going to be at least that if not a little bit more,” said Freeman.
