Kevin Hern will continue to serve Oklahoma’s first congressional district for the next two years after winning Tuesday night’s race.
Hern knocked off democratic challenger Kojo Asamoa-Caesar and won roughly 64 percent of the vote.
This is Hern’s first time running for re-election after first winning in 2018. He said he’s thankful for all the people who voted for him.
Hern said his focus for the next two years will be getting the economy back on track and schools back open. He wants both of those areas to thrive in his new term.
As a whole, Hern expects to see further attempts by the House to impeach President Trump should he win.
Hern said this is a resounding win and also took time to recognize his opponent, and he said their conversations are not over.
It’s a real honor to do that and continue to listen. My opponent called me a few minutes ago and conceded. I want to get a cup of coffee with him soon, so we can talk about the issues we can deal with,” Hern said.
Hern’s representation includes people living in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bartlesville and Owasso.
