Officer Lindsey joined the Tulsa Police Department in 2005 and served as the chairman of the board for the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police. Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin announced Lindsey’s passing last Wednesday. Lindsey was 40 years old and leaves behind a wife and two young sons.
Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said Lindsey was a friend, who was incredibly thoughtful and didn’t consider his work with the FOP a job, but rather a calling. Bynum said most of the important work Lindsey did was the work no one saw because it was behind the scenes.

“Whether that was making sure that officers and their families were taken care of in hard times, advocating for them in personnel meetings that no one ever hears about or working with local non-profits to get the resources that our officers need or working with leaders at the state capitol,” said Bynum.
Officer Lindsey’s funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Victory Christian Church in Tulsa.
