The Bixby Spartans will host the Booker T Washington Hornets to close out the regular high school football season tonight. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
Bixby Athletics Director Jay Bittle told News On 6 this is the first time the Spartans will have played on national television. He said crews from the network have been on campus setting up equipment this week.
The game is on just days after Bixby Public Schools canceled classes because of a positive COVID-19 result.
Bittle said it was related to a bus driver and the district now has everything figured out. Classes resumed Wednesday in the district.

The Spartans have stayed healthy for the most part during the pandemic, according to Bittle. He said he is proud of the coaches and players following the protocols set in place.
Fans can expect to see many of the same safety protocols that have been in place all season, including masks and limited stadium capacity. Physical distancing will also be encouraged.
The game is scheduled to air Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPN. A limited number of tickets will be sold exclusively online at 1 p.m. Thursday.
