EMSA Says No ICU Beds Available In Tulsa Hospitals

Tulsa health officials have said that there are currently no ICU beds available in the City of Tulsa. The shortage comes as COVID-19 cases are spiking across the state and hospitalizations are on the rise.

According to a spokesperson from EMSA, the number of available beds could quickly change, adding that not all of the ICU beds in the city are occupied by COVID-19 patients.

Overnight Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said in a statement “listen to those medical professionals asking for steps to be taken that will slow the spread of this virus. Politically convenient speeches about freedom and personal responsibility are not preventing our ICUs from being maxed out.”

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt is scheduled to host a news conference on Tuesday at 2 p.m. to discuss the rising number of cases throughout the state and Tulsa city officials will hold a news conference at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
