Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Tuesday.
1.COVID-19 IN THE STATE: Governor Kevin Stitt will give an update on Oklahoma’s response to the pandemic Tuesday at 2 p.m. The governor will be joined by the state Commissioner of Health as well as other healthcare professionals.
2.MASKS IN JENKS? Jenks City Council will vote on a mask mandate for the city. The mandate would be for those ages 10 and up. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and you can find more details in this story here.
3.FOOD AND FLU SHOTS: Food on the Move is hosting a free food and flu vaccination drive-thru event Tuesday afternoon. Those in need can get a week’s worth of groceries and uninsured adults can also receive a free flu shot. The event is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. near John Hope Franklin Boulevard and Greenwood.
4.LET’S TALK HEALTH: Tribal Healthcare and Government officials will hold a virtual roundtable to discuss disparities affecting Native Americans’ cancer outcomes. The even it hosted by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.
5.JOY IN THE CAUSE: The Whataburger in Tulsa Hills near 81st and Olympia will host a fundraiser Tuesday. A percentage of every purchase from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. will go back to Joy in the Cause, a nonprofit that helps families facing life-altering situations.
6.NEW TECH? Apple is hosting an online event. There are not many specifics, but it’s rumored that the tech giant will be launching new products.
