Federal prosecutors charged a Tulsa woman in a crime spree that left a man dead in June 2019.
Prosecutors said Nicole Williams and her boyfriend, Barton Vann, killed Curtiss Gaines while trying to rob him during a drug deal in Tulsa.
The case was moved from state to federal court earlier this year because of the Supreme Court ruling on tribal jurisdiction. Williams made her first appearance in court Monday on federal charges of first-degree felony murder and robbery.
Investigators said Vann was the shooter. He’s set to stand trial in Tulsa County in January.
