Investigators are working to determine the cause of an overnight house fire that broke out in Owasso.
It took crews from three different agencies to put out the blaze that began at a home near 96th Street North and 193rd East Avenue in Rogers county.
Crews said they first received the call around 1:30 a.m. on Friday and when they arrived they found that nearly a quarter of the home was on fire. Fire crews from Verdigris and Owasso backed up the Limestone Fire Department and spent hours working to contain the fire.
According to officials, the homeowner first called 911 while he was upstairs in the home and began smelling smoke coming from downstairs.
Crews are now working to find out what caused the blaze.
“It started in the middle of the structure, we’re pretty sure it started in the middle dining room downstairs but as far as that it’s still under investigation," said Limestone Fire Chief Greg Long.
Officials said that he was the only person inside at the time of the fire and he was able to make it out of the house with no injuries.
