General Motors has now announced a recall on thousands of its Chevy Bolts.
GM says the batteries in close to 69,000 of the electric vehicles are at risk of catching fire. So far there have been five reported instances of these fires, with two people suffering smoke inhalation and one house catching fire as a result. The problem is in models from 2017 to 2019.
Engineers are still working on a permanent fix. Safety regulators recommend parking the car outside until a temporary repair can be made by a dealer.
