Tulsa Transit Receives Meals On Wheels Community Service Award

The Meals on Wheels Program recognized Tulsa Transit on Tuesday for helping them deliver meals during the pandemic.

Tulsa Transit received the Community Service Award during a virtual celebration. Meals on Wheels says Tulsa Transit transitioned some of its vehicles to operate as a delivery service back in April.

"Achieving this award would not have been possible without the call center staff here at Tulsa Transit and the lift service contractor first transit both helpnig to aid so many in need in addition to performing their normal everyday duties," said Naaja Jefferies of Tulsa Transit.

Tulsa Transit delivered close to 43,000 meals to seniors in need.
