Here’s a look at six things to know before you set your alarm for Thursday.
1.STATE OF THE CITY: Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum will give his annual State of the City address Thursday, virtually. Mayor Bynum is scheduled to speak to the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce at 12 p.m.
2.COVID-19 UPDATE: City and county leaders will hold a press conference Thursday to give an update on their response to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases. The news conference begins at 3 p.m. you can watch it live on the city’s Facebook page.
3.LOCAL ART FOR A CAUSE: Metro by T-Mobile will unveil a new mural by a local artist on the side of a storefront near East 46th Street North and Peoria. The unveiling will also include a donation to the Greenwood Rising Museum. The event starts at 4 p.m.
4.THEY ASKED, YOU ANSWERED: Tulsa Parks and Recreation will present public feedback on its Parks Master Plan at 6 p.m. on their Facebook page.
5.TRAV TURNS ON THE LIGHTS: It’s lights on in Jenks Thursday night. Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer has the honor of lighting up the main street display this year. The free holiday festival is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
6.A CLAREMORE CHRISTMAS: The city of Claremore also kicks off the Christmas season Thursday with its annual tree lighting ceremony. The festivities start at 6 p.m.
