Experts believe that this year's Cyber Monday could be bigger than ever as people stay home to shop due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Postal Inspector John Wiegand, from the United States Postal Inspection Service, said that the increase in online shopping makes it even more important for people to protect themselves from porch pirates.

According to Wiegand, some postal workers will be keeping an extra eye out and calling the police if they see someone stealing packages.

"We are proactively working, especially during the holiday season, to deter and catch these thieves in the act of truly stealing a package," said Wiegand.

Wiegand added that people with a video doorbell should make sure to position it to best see people's faces at the front door and also make sure that they know how to download the video.
