A new career center in Broken Arrow hopes to help those looking for a job during the pandemic. The city’s economic development corporation launched the community tool Tuesday afternoon.

The new center will be available at the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce and will provide a variety of different services.

It’s called the "Work in BA Career and Workforce Center" and is both a physical and virtual space and has been under development for a year. It will help both Broken Arrow residents and businesses.

Broken Arrow Chamber president Jennifer Conway said the physical space is kind of a one-stop shop.

Job seekers can visit their lab space and work with professionals on skills like job searches, career counseling and video interviewing.

The center is being funded by the city of Broken Arrow and through Tulsa County CARES, which is money provided to offset some of the loss from the pandemic. Conway said because of COVID-19, this center is important as the economy recovers, and it's to help everyone.

"This is a center for our partners, this is a center for our residents, this is a center for the entire community,” said Conway. “And what you see is these pictures around the wall. Every one of these are pictures from Broken Arrow employers."

The center also has a website with resources, you can find that here.
