TPS Leaders Push For Teachers To Be Considered Essential To Receive Vaccine

Tulsa Public Schools leaders are pushing for teachers to be moved up higher on the vaccine tier.

Right now, teachers and students are on the third level of the proposed vaccine tier, behind healthcare workers and those living in nursing homes.

Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist said she’s been speaking to state leaders about considering teachers as essential workers so students can get back to the classroom.

The Governor’s office said the vaccine tier on the state’s website is not finalized yet.
