Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Thursday.
1.VACCINE COMING: The State Health Department will announce new details about the state’s first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The first doses of the Pfizer vaccine are set to arrive in Oklahoma next week. Frontline healthcare workers will be the first to get it.
2.TREE OF TRIUMPH: Up With Trees is planting a “tree of triumph” and installing a historical marker in Tulsa’s Greenwood district. The dedication ceremony is at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
3.FOOD DRIVE: Sustainable Tulsa will host a food drive at the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. You can drive through and drop off nonperishable food items from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
4.SEASON TIPOFF: The OU men’s basketball team will finally tip off its season in Norman Thursday against the University of Texas San Antonio. The game starts at 7 p.m.
5.WINE WALK: The Broken Arrow Wine Walk returns to the Rose District. The event features nine wine-tasting stops and several food tasting locations. Tickets are $35 per person.
6.DINE TOGETHER: Thursday is National Dine-In Day. It’s a day dedicated to highlight family and consumer sciences. You’re encouraged to sit down and share a home-cooked meal with your family.
