Only children in elementary school are in the classroom right now because all other students have shifted to distance learning. Moore said the bus drivers began learning the new routes last week.

The district’s current plan calls for all students to return to the classroom in January. Moore said changing the routes now gives them more time to prepare.

Broken Arrow Public Schools currently has two dozen openings for bus drivers. The district said that maintaining a good number of drivers will prevent the district from having to make further changes to bus routes.
