Bixby Public Schools announced changes to their calendar, extending winter break to allow for an at-home period for families before returning to class.

The district said that they will extend winter break through Friday, January 8 and will bring students back to in-person instruction on January 11.

“We are also hopeful that this period away from school will assist in mitigating the spread of COVID in our community during this uncertain time,” the district said.

The district hopes the extension will allow time for families that have traveled or celebrated in gatherings for the holidays to have a substantial at-home period before returning to in-person class.
