You can get your license renewed, your vehicle registered and finish your Christmas shopping all at a tag agency in Broken Arrow.
A stop at the tag agency might feel as mundane as ever but it doesn't have to be, at least that is how Indian Springs Tag Agency owner Crystal Smith feels.
"We are doing everything we can to meet their needs and just making it a happy occasion, if we can," said Smith.
"I am looking for a gift. I came to the tag agency but not for a tag," said customer Davis Mitchell.
This space is an expression of Smith’s desire for people to feel at home, for people to feel cared for. It is half tag agency, half gift shop.
"I have told people, 'Go into the tag agency and there are gifts in there.' It is weird but it is great!” said Mitchell.
This time of year, you walk in and smell holiday candles, hear Christmas music and can finish up stocking stuffers or grab those last few items for the people on your list- all while you are standing in line.
"We want people to know that we care and that we don't view them as just the taxpayers," said Smith.
Employees said the gift shop takes a lot of the stress out of what can be an overwhelming trip for some people.
"When the customer comes in, they really like it. There is more room for social distancing, they can sit, they can browse. It is fabulous really," said employee Linda Nelson.
As beautiful and fun as this space is, the employees said they feel like a big family.
"We go out of our way to try and help someone," said Diane Williamson.
Memorable is probably the best word to use to describe this place, and in a year like 2020, a small smile, a simple gift or positive experience goes a long, long way.
"They are our neighbors, they are part of our community and we want them to know that we care about them," said Smith.
