TPS To Provide Meals For Tulsa Children Through Winter Break

Tulsa Public Schools is offering Tulsa children ages 18 and younger eight days worth of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to get them through the winter break.  Parents can drive through the pickup lane at any of the meal sites and let workers know how many kids they have that and load their vehicle with as many meals as needed. The district has been distributing grab-and-go meals for several months and organizers say they have seen high demand for the food.

Tulsa Public Schools is offering Tulsa children, ages 18 and younger, eight days worth of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to get them through the winter break.

Parents can drive through the pickup lane at any of the meal sites and let workers know how many kids they have that and load their vehicle with as many meals as needed.

The district has been distributing grab-and-go meals for several months and organizers say they have seen high demand for the food.

Community Outreach Coordinator, Heather Steele, said that they want to make sure students are taken care of during the holidays.

“We get thank-you's for parents and families saying ‘thank you so much for offering these’ and ‘these are something our kids look forward to every day’ and so to keep that consistency going over winter break is a really awesome feeling that we can do for them," said Steele.

Organizers will be giving out the meals on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at any of the meal sites.
