On Sunday, volunteers spent their day picking up trash and trimming bushes at Turkey Mountain during the "Trail Clean Up" event hosted by The Tulsa Urban Wilderness Coalition.
One volunteer with the coalition said they believe that that it is important to maintain the area, especially since it has been a popular place to visit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I think this year more than ever we're looking for ways to be outside, we're looking for ways to get out of the house and be active and Turkey Mountain is that perfect resource for the community to get outside and just enjoy the outdoors," said JT Darling, a volunteer at the event.
Volunteers were encouraged to wear warm clothes and maintain physical distance while cleaning up.
