A man is in jail on Wednesday after Tulsa police accused him of breaking into a laundromat before leading officers on a foot chase overnight.

According to police, it began when officers received a call about a suspicious person standing outside of a smoke shop near East Pine Street and North Sheridan Road. When authorities arrive on the scene, officers said the man dropped the things he was holding and began running.

Police caught the suspect in a nearby neighborhood shortly after the chase began and police said that he had admitted to breaking into the "Tub of Suds" laundromat, however it does not appear that left with anything.

The suspect is also accused of stealing candy and energy drinks from a trailer outside of a nearby store.

According to police, the suspect had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.

Police said he was booked into jail on a burglary complaint.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the suspect.
