Tulsa Firefighters Respond To Fire At LaFortune Tower Apartments

Tulsa firefighters on Tuesday responded to a fire that broke out at the La Fortune Tower apartments near I-24 and West 17th Street in the early morning hours. Crews have been able to contain the blaze that appears to have broken out on the fourth floor of the building. There is currently no word on if anyone was injured in the fire.

Tulsa firefighters on Tuesday are looking into the cause of an apartment fire that broke out at LaFortune Tower near West 21st Street and Southwest Boulevard.

According to the Tulsa Fire Department, the fire broke out in a fourth-floor apartment and firefighters on the scene used a ladder to rescue a man from the burning building. Officials said that he did not require medical attention.

Gene Linn, a resident at LaFortune Tower said, “Almost like a bomb went off, then I'd seen that smoke and I was like ‘ok, it’s time to get everybody out.’”

Fire officials said that the blaze caused significant damage to the apartment and no one was seriously injured however, a few people were checked out by emergency crews for smoke inhalation.
