A man is in jail on Thursday after Tulsa County Sheriff's Deputies say he fired a shot into a house and refused to come outside when they arrived.

The brief standoff took place around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday at a home near East 66th street North and North Norfolk Place in Turley.

Authorities identified the suspect as Burl Meador, who was taken to jail after he shot at his son-in-law but missed and hit a wall.

When authorities arrived they spent about an hour working to get the man to come out of his house, but he finally was arrested.

Meador was taken to the Tulsa County Jail for having a gun and shooting with intent to kill.

Records indicate Meador also had a warrant for threatening an act of violence in November.
