In 2020, there was so much talk about mental health surround COVID-19.
A new report showed there is still an unmet need for mental health treatment for kids and adults.
And even before the pandemic, The Mental Health America's 2021 report found 60-percent of youth with major depression did not receive any mental health treatment, and only 27 percent with severe depression received treatment.
Additionally, nearly 24 percent of adults with mental illness were not treated, and this number has not declined since 2011.
But it's a country-wide problem.
Even in states where people have greater access to mental health services, over 38 percent are not receiving the treatment they need.
Dr. Stevan Lahr with Family and Children's Services shared how Tulsa fits in with these statistics and whether the city is meeting the need for mental health services.
