The State Health Department is releasing more information about its COVID-19 vaccine portal to clarify some reported issues with the scheduling tool.

The State health department is encouraging people to continue to sign up on their portal to get scheduled for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Once you register on the portal, you will get an email confirmation that states whether you are eligible for an appointment, but the health department said that the e-mail does not guarantee an appointment slot will be open for that week.

Health officials say appointment availability is entirely dependent on vaccine supply. They say new appointments are added to the system on Thursday mornings for the following week.

For those with questions about getting scheduled, visit the health department's website or call 211.
