Teacher Of The Day: Karen Naifeh-Harmon

Wednesday's teacher of the day is Karen Naifeh-Harmon, Karen is a member of a Tulsa family that shares a passion for music that spans three generations.

Karen is a violinist and composer who leads the Tulsa Honors Orchestra. Her mother, Jody Naifeh, founded the orchestra 42 years ago.

"Music was just a vehicle for her to really connect and bring joy to the world to make sure that everybody has something that they felt beautiful about and confident in," Karen said."

Karen's 14-year-old daughter Alexandra also plays the violin and helps teach

If a student is struggling financially but wants to be a part of the orchestra, Karen works with them on scholarships, making sure everyone is able to share in the joy of music.
