The Broken Arrow Police Department is helping people stay safe from identity theft by hosting a free shredding event on Saturday.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Public Safety Complex in Broken Arrow. The Broken Arrow Police Department says people can bring up to five banker boxes or bags of documents to shred but asks those who participate not to bring binders, paper clips, or any other items other than the paper so that way nothing on their end breaks.
