Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Tuesday.
1.MOURNING A GREAT: Tuesday marks one year since the death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter and seven others died in a helicopter crash in southern California.
2.TRAVEL RULES: New CDC rules go into effect on Tuesday. If you’re traveling out of the country, before you come back you must test negative for COVID-19 within three days before your flight back to the U.S.
3.FROM THE EXPERTS: Infection rates, vaccine rollout, plasma donations and COVID strains are all topics for Tuesday’s virtual update from Oklahoma’s healthcare professionals. That is at 12:30 p.m.
4.SCHOOL QUESTIONS? From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. there’s a virtual enrollment expo for Tulsa Public Schools. Students, parents and the community can talk with school leaders from all 77 schools and learn options for pre-K through high school. If you can’t hop online during those hours, there’s another one on Wednesday.
5.BUILDING JOBS: The governor will be in Stroud Tuesday to announce a $5 million expansion of an aircraft turbine company based here in Oklahoma. Mint Turbines is expected to hire 30 new employees following the new partnership with General Electric.
6.HONORING THE GREATS: On Tuesday, we’ll know the baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
