A man is in jail accused of robbing a clerk at a Broken Arrow liquor store with a knife Thursday morning. Owasso Police arrested him a couple of hours later.
The clerk who was working at the liquor store said the suspect, 33-year-old David Waller, walked into the liquor store and started stuffing bottles of vodka in his pants.
The victim said he told Waller to leave but Waller pulled a knife.
Waller was arrested a few hours later as Owasso Police were responding to a shoplifting call and realized Waller was the suspect from the Broken Arrow robbery. Police say the victim came to the scene and identified Waller as the same man who pulled the knife on him.
Owasso Police arrested two other people who were with Waller, on unrelated charges.
"Within five hours, having a robbery suspect who you don't know initially, to being in custody and booked on a robbery charge. That is outstanding police work,” said Officer Chris Walker with Broken Arrow Police.
Waller has been booked into jail for robbery.
Records show Waller has been in and out of prison since 2006 for burglary and larceny.
