Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Saturday.
.COVID VACCINES: Mobile Caring Vans will be at six locations Saturday to administer second doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to hundreds of people eligible in at-risk communities. It’s a partnership between the Tulsa Health Department and the Oklahoma Caring Foundation. You can find the locations in this story here.
.AHEAD OF SCHEDULE: The State Highway 28 bridge at Pensacola Dam in Mayes County is expected to open Saturday afternoon. The construction was ahead of schedule. The second phase of the project is on track to start in the spring.
.ON THE COURT: The Big 12 – SEC Challenge for men’s college basketball is Saturday. The #24 Sooners take on the #9 Crimson Tide at noon and OSU faces Arkansas at 4 p.m.
.BOOKS, BREWS & BBQ: It’s not too late to get a ticket to Books, Brews & BBQ. It’s the only fundraiser for Reading Partners, which helps kids struggling with reading. The virtual event features music, trivia and a guest appearance from author Steven King.
.COOKIE TIME: It’s almost Girl Scout cookie season. Troops are picking up nearly 200,000 packages of cookies Saturday afternoon. Sales start February 12, so start thinking about what boxes you want to stock up on this year.
.SHOP LOCAL: Saturday is National Croissant Day. Stop by a local bakery to buy some buttery, flakey treats.
