The annual "Point-in-Time" count is underway in Tulsa. The count is an effort to count people and families who are experiencing homelessness.

Becky Gligo, Executive Director of Housing Solutions, said that because of COVID-19 there are fewer volunteers participating in this year's count.

"This year what we did is we had the shelter count on the 28th and then outreach teams went out on successive nights, they're actually still going out, to get more information so that they could keep their distance and still get surveys done but cover more ground this year without volunteer support," said Gligo.

The Homeless Alliance in Oklahoma City has canceled its annual count of the homeless population this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
