OSBI agents are investigating a shooting involving a deputy in McCurtain County.
Investigators said the incident started as a domestic call in Broken Bow over the weekend when they said Franklin Gray held his mother on a couch to the point where she couldn’t breathe.
They said when McCurtain County deputies tried to take Gray into custody, he started fighting them. They said he even tried to take a deputy’s gun by ripping the holster from the deputy’s belt.
Investigators said deputies tased Gray but that didn’t stop him, so they shot him. He died at the scene.
No deputies were injured and are on routine administrative leave.
