The first Black justice to serve on the Oklahoma Supreme Court has retired after 16 years on the job.

The first Black justice to serve on the Oklahoma Supreme Court has retired after 16 years on the job.

Monday was Justice Tom Colbert’s last day with the Supreme Court. Colbert was appointed by Governor Brad Henry in 2004.

Governor Kevin Stitt will name his replacement. The appointment will become the governor’s third Supreme Court appointment.
