The Drug Enforcement Administration awarded a Green Country woman and her nonprofit with the 2020 Community Drug Prevention Award Thursday.
Layla Freeman is the CEO of Light of Hope. The organization educates thousands of students in Northeast Oklahoma on drug prevention.
Freeman’s daughter died from a drug overdose seven years ago. Since then, she’s made it her mission to educate students and families about drug addiction and prevention.
