Select pharmacies across the state are getting ready to get the COVID-19 vaccine as early as next week.
"Very excited for the people of Stroud, we've had numerous phone calls," said Bill Ash, owner and pharmacist at Stroud Drug.
Ash said he was told last week he was one of the pilot pharmacies to begin administering the vaccine. He said 100 doses of the Moderna vaccine will arrive to his pharmacy next week.
"When we get down to 80 percent burned, or used, then we will be able to reorder," Ash said.
Ash said he has been preparing his pharmacy for months to house the vaccine. He said this has been a long process and being able to finally vaccinate people in Stroud is a weight off his shoulders.
"We're almost there, we can see light at the end of the tunnel," he said.
He said they will be following the phases put out by the state and vaccines will be given out by appointment only.
