Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Friday.
.HONORING VICTIMS: There will be a balloon release to honor the six victims, including the five kids that were murdered in their home in Muskogee earlier this week. That’s at Elliot Park at 6 p.m. Friday.
.HONORING FIREFIGHTERS: Governor Kevin Stitt signed an executive order to lower flags Friday to honor the lives of the Waynoka Fire Chief and a firefighter who died last week while battling a house fire.
.COVID VACCINES: We’ll get another update from the state health department on distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. The virtual press conference starts at 1:30 p.m.
.CAST YOUR VOTE: Early voting continues Friday in Tulsa County for the primary elections for the Tulsa, Collinsville and Owasso Boards of Education as well as Tulsa County Treasurer. That starts at 8 a.m. at the election board.
.RED FRIDAY: Wear red Friday – it’s Go Red for Women Day. Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women, but only 55% of women know that.
.FIRST FRIDAYS: The First Friday Art Crawl is back in the Tulsa Arts District. You can check out local art, shop at downtown stores and support restaurants, many of them offering special deals Friday afternoon and evening.
