A man recently released from prison is back behind bars after officers said he put a bag of meth down his pants to hide it from officers during a traffic stop.

Mathew Aldridge was just released from prison after serving time for first degree burglary, and now he is facing drug charges with the intent to distribute.

Aldridge's criminal history shows he was released from prison in December 2020 after he was convicted in Tulsa County of first degree burglary.

Catoosa Police said when they arrested Aldridge they also found an escape warrant for him from 2007 in Garfield County.

Court records show Aldridge was sentenced to a treatment facility and was ordered to pay fees for the treatment; when he stopped paying those fines, officers issued a warrant for him.

Catoosa Police said Aldridge was arrested after the car he was in was pulled over because of an expired paper tag.

Officers said they are thankful to get any amount of drugs off the streets.

“That is almost 12 grams over the trafficking amount. That’s way above personal use. When someone has that large quantity on them they are either selling or taking it to someone who is going to sell it," said Catoosa Officer Brent Colbert.
