A former Oologah high school girls’ basketball coach is out on bond after being arrested Friday, accused of making sexual comments to several young girls while he still worked at the school.
A multi-county grand jury indicted Trent Winters on six misdemeanor counts.
Winters is accused of telling the girls what his favorite condom was, talking about taking his wife's virginity, and talking about having sex with several girls in one night.
The indictment said Winters also touched one of the girls on the chest and asked if she "liked it" and said there was "more where that came from."
The affidavit filed in the case said, several students told the school Winters was referred to as "Coach Perv."
A lawsuit has been filed against the school district on behalf of two of the girls. The attorney for two of the girls said Winters is the fourth teacher in the district who has been arrested recently for inappropriate conduct.
The lawsuit said in part, "Oologah-Talala Public schools failed to provide its students an environment free of a sexual predator."
Winters' attorney tells News On 6, these misdemeanor charges are a "big stretch and unconstitutional."
In a statement she said, "The Rogers County DA looked at this case in 2019 and declined to file charges, then for whatever reason, this was taken to a multi county grand jury and my client was indicted on a five count misdemeanor unconstitutional statute.
Winters’ attorney said Winters not guilty and said the $10,000 bond was excessive.
News On 6 called Oologah Schools for a comment, but they were closed for the weather.
