Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Wednesday.
1.FACING TRAGEDY: The mayor of Muskogee will hold a news conference after five young children and a man were shot and killed last week. He will talk about the tragedy, how to move forward as a community and how to support the family at 10 a.m.
2.ON TRIAL: The second impeachment trial for former president Donald Trump will continue Tuesday. Democratic managers will have eight hours to present their case, trying to prove that Trump incited the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in January.
3.CAPITOL MAKEOVER: At the Oklahoma state capitol, crews are working on the final touches after years of renovations. We’ll have an exclusive first-hand look at the $280 million makeover from Governor Stitt Wednesday at 9 & 10 p.m.
4.COVID UPDATE: Health leaders will offer an update Wednesday on vaccine distribution, COVID prevention and the outlook. Dr. Bruce Dart will answer media questions Wednesday morning.
5.COVID TOWN HALL: AARP Oklahoma will host a coronavirus telephone town hall. It’s free and starts at 9 a.m. You can register on AARP Oklahoma’s website or watch the livestream on Facebook.
6.MAYES COUNTY CLINIC CANCELED: The Mayes County vaccine clinic set for Wednesday at the fairgrounds is canceled because there’s no heat in the building. 900 people had appointments – if you’re one of them, don’t cancel your appointment in the portal. You will get a phone call to reschedule in the next few days.
