More Than 1 Million Oklahomans Eligible Starting Next Week For COVID-19 Vaccine

More than one million Oklahomans will soon be eligible to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Governor Kevin Stitt announced Thursday the state can move forward with the next part of phase two of vaccine distribution.

More than one million Oklahomans will soon be eligible to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Governor Kevin Stitt announced Thursday the state can move forward with the next part of phase two of vaccine distribution.

Governor Stitt said starting February 22, any Oklahoman with comorbidities, which includes cancer, hypertension, obesity, chronic lung illness and many other conditions.

Stitt said about half of all Oklahomans 65 and older have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. They will still be able to get the vaccine in this new phase, but the Governor says this will open it up to more than a million Oklahomans.

Teachers and staff at public and private schools will also be able to get the vaccine.

Stitt said his goal all along has been to get kids back in the classroom.
