The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is asking everyone to stay home during this weekend's winter weather.

OHP is partnering with Oklahoma National Guard to have response teams ready to help stranded drivers across the state.

Troopers said if you absolutely have to get out, you should let others know your planned route and expected arrival time.

"Check brakes, wipers, fluids, and tire pressure. Pack warm clothing, blankets, flashlight, ice scraper, sand or cat litter, jumper cables, non-perishable food and drinking water," OHP said.

They said you should also charge your phone before you head out and take a charging cord with you.
