The Southwest Power Pool, that includes Oklahoma, is back to Energy Emergency Alert Level 1.

SPP says right now, the entire system is strained because of the record cold. State leaders and power providers are asking customers to keep their energy use down to avoid another energy emergency.

"That's why myself and other Governors are asking Oklahomans to reduce thermostats, unplug unnecessary appliances, avoid using washers and dryers," said Governor Stitt.

200,000 Oklahomans were without power for as long as three hours on Tuesday as a part of a planned outage to prevent even longer and uncontrolled outages.

There are no outages planned for Wednesday afternoon but officials urge continued conservation.
