United States Department of Agriculture is investing nearly $2 million into rural Oklahoma communities to help improve distance learning and telemedicine infrastructure.
The money will give people better access to health care and education opportunities.
According to the USDA, rural areas are seeing higher infection and death rates related to COVID-19.
The department said that it is due to a lack of health insurance, difficulty accessing medical care and a higher percentage of residents having underlying conditions.
