The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety announced that it would be extending the hours of operation for driver license offices across the state.
According to OKDPS, the new extended services will be offered by appointment only.
The decision comes as a response to clear a backlog of appointments and fix the chronic delays many have faced.
DPS Commissioner John Scully said, "Expanding out extended hours locations is our latest effort to reduce the backlog at our offices."
According to the DPS, participating locations will span the state and change daily according to the availability of those available to work the extended hours.
