A Mayes County mother is asking for help to find her 14-year-old daughter who has been missing for two weeks.

The Mayes County Sheriff's Office said Jaidyn Maher ran away with a 14 year-old-boy and they believe she could be somewhere in Oklahoma, Kansas or Arkansas. They are asking for help because they believe she is in danger.

Jaidyn's mom Marianne Smith said she hasn't heard from her daughter in almost 14 days.

Smith said she just wants to know her daughter is okay, but what breaks her heart the most is seeing Jaidyn’s younger siblings cry and pray every night for their big sister to come home.

"She's a sweet girl. I love her with my whole heart. I just want her home and safe,” said Smith.

Smith is begging for help because she believes someone knows where Jaidyn is. She said Jaidyn stole her jeep two weeks ago and went to meet a 14-year-old boy.

"She was seen getting out and walking over and getting a bag, then walking over to a road out in front of the apartment complex and no one has seen her since,” said Smith.

The sheriff's office has exhausted all its leads, including one that Jaidyn had been living in a shack near Salina. They found some of her clothes nearby.

Major Rod Howell with the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office said normally runaways come back within 48 hours, but since she hasn't, they fear someone could lure her in over social media.

"People that are human traffickers are using this to aid in them getting vulnerable people, getting run-aways, getting juveniles that are this age, 12, 13, 14. We've seen it. We've seen it in Mayes County, as well as anywhere in Oklahoma,” said Howell.

Smith said she never would have imagined she would be going through this and has a message for her daughter.

"Jaidyn, I love you. Please come home. Please contact somebody. Please,” said Smith.

If you know where Jaidyn is or have any information, call the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office at 918-825-3535. You can remain anonymous.
